Mission Statement

The mission statement for CANEPCO is divided into a “Short Term” and “Long Term” plan.

Short Term:

The political situation in Nepal has been deep rooted in the history of the Country. In recent history, there have been many political changes that have had a major impact on the people. Nepal consists of an extremely diverse culture and many ethnic groups, so not unlike Canada, the people have many different views about how the political parties in Nepal should function. In the most recent National elections in Nepal, a new government has been elected. As a result, the Kingdom of Nepal has been abolished and Nepal is now recognized as the Republic of Nepal. The provinces within Nepal are now asking for a Provincial and a National Government. This is a totally new structure for them and they have no practical experience is this field.

CANEPCO is working closely with leaders in both Canada and Nepal to develop a program that will provide guidance and excellent examples to assist in the restructuring process.

Long Term:

The longer term plan is to work collaboratively with groups and known partners on projects related to democracy, industry, education, culture, tourism, agriculture and the environment.
